A good friend of mine who joined a new FinTech, Harmonic, as their Chief Marketing Officer, contacted me looking to rebrand their company to make it more appealing to the millennial target market. Just the words Financial Planning makes my eyes glaze over but it is an incredibly important service to offer those who are just starting out in the working world. We could all benefit from being more financially literate.
They wanted the whole kit and kaboodle (wow, now I am dating myself!) so it was time to offer up the magic ticket - a collaboration with Good Bones Studio. They are a team of designers, developers, brand creators and all around creative visionaries. You tell them what you think you need, they listen intently, take everything in and then present a concept that goes well beyond your wild expectations and gives you that butterfly-in-your-tummy-giddy feeling.
I always love an opportunity to play design match-maker and I knew that bringing Harmonic + Good Bones together was going to result in a great partnership. I made the introduction, the match was lit and then I took on the role of Project Manager to help with strategy direction and content development.
Once the website was launched and everyone raved about Harmonic’s new fun and polished personality, I got to work incorporating the brand into their embedded mobile application. Signing up for insurance can be a tedious process, but when you are delighted by whimsical illustrations on each step, you hardly notice the 10 steps go by! Before you know it, you have signed up for the extra Accidental Insurance you didn’t know you needed - win-win all around!
We were all thrilled with the end results and I especially loved the family of Harmonic dogs with giant personalities who will guide you to your future financial resilience.
